About our Annual Conference
Every year, CASA teams up with supporting parties in the child welfare system to host a conference for youth ages 15 and up. This day-long event brings together teens in foster care and connects them with helpful community resources. Throughout the day, participants join sessions that teach valuable life skills, meet with a variety of vendors, and listen to a keynote speaker. There’s plenty of fun too. Counties work together to provide food, entertainment, and great giveaways. Our goal is to create a memorable day where young people can have fun, make memories, and think about their future.
For many youth leaving foster care, this can be a stressful time. Some older children in out-of-home placement may not feel confident about their future, often because no one has told them they can succeed, should pursue their goals, or shown them how to access the resources they need.
That’s the purpose of our aging out conference: to inspire youth to reach their full potential and give them the knowledge, confidence, and resources to help them get there.
Your Support Makes a Difference
As we work hard to liaison with important parties, we need the help of our community in order to make the most of this event. We are looking for those who would like to sponsor our event by donating money, in kind goods and/or purchasing items off of our online wish list to brighten the day of our adolescents in out-of-home placement.
