Reflections on our Help a Hero Campaign

When each fundraising event comes to a close, I find myself deep in reflection. Though I usually keep these thoughts to myself, today I want to open up and share them with all of you.

The Help a Hero Campaign this year stood out in ways I never expected. I am thrilled to share that we raised $9,907.74, nearly reaching our $10,000 goal. But as I reflect, I realize this campaign is about so much more than a dollar amount. Over 90 generous individuals contributed, with more than 50 joining us as first-time donors. I want to pause and truly honor how significant this is. In just 5 weeks, so many people believed in our mission enough to give what they worked so hard to earn.

Whether you gave $10 or $1,000, we are truly grateful to have you as part of our community. As CASA’s Development Director, what keeps me motivated is knowing why we fundraise and seeing how your support directly helps our mission. After volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for over six years, I have seen firsthand why donations matter and how much our advocates help children in foster care. Every child deserves a CASA, and your financial support brings us closer to that goal. I often say that it takes a village to help our most vulnerable children, and your generosity during this campaign showed that we are not alone. Thank you, truly, for believing in what we do at CASA.

Sincerely,

Lauren Sikora

Communications and Development Director
