For CASA advocates, every adoption is a moment filled with hope and meaning. Although our greatest wish is always for children to return to their families, sometimes that path is not possible. In those moments, seeing a child welcomed into a loving adoptive home becomes a beautiful new beginning. While we cannot always share the details of the adoptions we witness, our advocates often reflect on the deep impact these journeys have on them and the families they support.
After one especially memorable adoption, CASA Advocate Christine shared touching words from the adoptive parent, who said, “So many workers kept changing, and different people kept coming to the house, but you were the one person who was always there.” CASA Advocate Suzanne also shared her thoughts after her assigned child was adopted: “Reflecting back from when I first saw, held and spent time with her - she was approximately 3 months old. I remember thinking this poor little thing-she has a long road ahead. Now look at her!!! She has a lot of love in her life. THIS is what she’ll know!!”
Being part of a child’s journey to their forever home, even in the smallest way, fills us with deep humility and gratitude. Witnessing these life-changing moments is truly a privilege.
