Introducing Brian Tarnopolsky, whose passion for helping children led him to CASA. Inspired by his dream of becoming a pediatrician, Brian found CASA to be a unique way to make a difference. When talking about his experience he shared "I’ve spent much of my life working with children as a camp counselor and through other volunteer experiences, but CASA gave me a unique opportunity to support children in a way I never had before. Being able to visit families in their homes, build relationships with resource parents, and advocate for children during such an important time in their lives was incredibly meaningful. I also found it very rewarding to have the opportunity to advocate for what I believed was in the children’s best interests and share those recommendations with the court."
Reflecting on his journey, Brian shared that the most important lesson he learned was the power of simply being present. Small acts, like showing up and connecting families with resources, can have a lasting impact. Advocacy, he realized, is not always about fixing every problem, but about being a steady source of support and ensuring children have someone in their corner. "Knowing that I was able to play even a small role in supporting them and their caregiver throughout that journey has meant a great deal to me."
Now, as Brian prepares to attend the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, we celebrate his achievements and wish him every success in the future.
